App terms of use and subscription
Last updated: 28 October 2026
These terms apply to the use of the novE application, on my.app-nove.com as well as in the phone apps, and to the subscription that lets you use it. You accept them when you create your account, or when you accept them in the application after they are updated. The version in force is the one whose date appears at the top of this page.
Browsing the app-nove.com website and the waiting list are covered by the website terms. How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy.
1. Who provides the service
NOVE SRL, Rue des Brigades d’Irlande 24, 6010 Charleroi, Belgium, company number 1040.631.440, VAT BE 1040.631.440. Contact: info@app-nove.com.
2. The service
novE is an application that helps you keep track of a renovation or building project: budget, quotes and invoices, documents, photos, schedule, notes, and an export of the whole file. It is an organisation tool: the amounts, totals and differences it shows are calculated from what you enter. It provides no financial, tax or legal advice, and no technical opinion on your works. The profitability indicators (yields, cash flow) are indicative calculations, based on the amounts you enter and excluding tax, and do not constitute investment advice. The information on grants, VAT or the post-intervention file is given for guidance only and does not replace the official rules, which may change.
The service evolves: features may be added, changed or removed. We do not remove an essential feature of your plan during a paid period without telling you.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and have the legal capacity to enter into a contract to create an account.
- The information you give when signing up must be accurate. Your email address is confirmed through a link.
- You keep your password confidential and you tell us without delay at info@app-nove.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.
- An account is personal. To work on a project with others, invite them: each person uses their own account.
4. Your content
The data, documents and photos you add remain yours. You allow us to store, copy and process them only to the extent needed to provide the service (storage, display, automatic reading if you ask for it, export, backups). We use them for no other purpose.
You agree to upload only content you have the right to use. Some documents contain third-party data (the name and contact details of a contractor, a notary, a neighbour in a photo): you add them to keep track of your project, and you remain responsible for that use. Unlawful content, content that infringes the rights of others, and any use that seeks to disrupt the service or to access other users’ data are prohibited.
You can retrieve your content at any time with a project export (an archive of your files and a PDF summary), including when your account is read-only.
5. Sharing a project
The owner of a project can invite other people, as editors or with read-only access, and choose which parts of the project a viewer sees. The owner invites people they know, and answers for their own use of those people’s addresses. The number of editors depends on the plan. The owner can remove someone’s access at any time; if the owner deletes the project or their account, the people invited lose their access.
6. Automatic reading of documents
Automatic reading extracts the amounts from a quote or an invoice. It relies on an artificial intelligence system: the document is sent to our provider Mistral AI (France), which reads its content and returns the details it finds to us, without being allowed to use it to train its models (see the privacy policy). The application tells you so when you add a document, next to the switch that controls it, before anything is sent.
It is optional: offered by default, it can be turned off when you add a document or in the application’s Settings, and that choice is remembered for the next ones. Its result is a suggestion for you to check: you remain responsible for the amounts recorded. The number of readings is capped each month according to the plan.
7. The free trial
A new account gets a 14-day free trial, with no card required. During the testing phase before the public launch, the trial may be longer; its end date is shown in the application, on the Subscription page. The trial never turns into a paid subscription unless you have chosen one. When it ends, without a subscription, your account becomes read-only (section 10).
8. The subscription
- Plans and prices. The plans (Standard, Pro), their limits and their prices are shown on the website and in the application at the time you subscribe. Prices are stated in euros, VAT included. In the iPhone and Android apps, the price shown is the App Store or Google Play price, in your account’s currency.
- Subscribing and payment. You subscribe on the web, from the Subscription page of the application, or in the iPhone and Android apps, through App Store or Google Play in-app purchase. On the web, payment is handled by our provider Stripe; in the apps, by Apple or Google, under their own terms. We never have access to your card details. An account has only one subscription at a time: an ongoing subscription taken out on the web cannot be doubled by a second one in an app, and vice versa.
- Subscription taken out in the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google collect the price and handle renewal, failed payments, plan changes and refunds, under their own rules. The subscription is charged to your Apple or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase and renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The following sections apply for everything else.
- Term and renewal. The subscription is monthly, every 6 months or yearly. It renews automatically for the same term until you cancel it, and the price of the next period is charged at its start.
- Changing plan. Moving to a higher plan takes effect immediately, with a pro rata adjustment for the current period. Moving to a lower plan takes effect at the end of the current period.
- Price changes. We tell you by email at least 30 days before a new price applies to your subscription. It applies only from the next period, and you can cancel before then.
- Late payment. If a payment fails, you keep access while the payment is retried. If it does not go through, the subscription ends and the account becomes read-only.
9. Your right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer, you have 14 calendar days from taking out your paid subscription to withdraw from it, without giving any reason and without penalty. For a subscription that follows the free trial, this period runs from its first payment.
You can exercise this right with the “Withdraw from contract here” button, available during that period in your account, on the Subscription page of the web application, or by sending us a clear statement at info@app-nove.com, for example: “I withdraw from my novE subscription taken out on [date] with the address [account address].” You can also use the model withdrawal form at the end of these terms, but you do not have to. We send you an acknowledgement of receipt of your request by email, without delay.
The paid service starts as soon as you subscribe, at your express request: you give it by ticking the box provided for that purpose when you subscribe. For a subscription that follows the free trial, this box is offered, but not required, when you add a payment method: if you do not tick it, a withdrawal is refunded in full. If you withdraw after asking for this immediate start, you must pay an amount proportionate to the service provided up to the moment you informed us of your withdrawal, in relation to the whole period covered by the subscription, that is, the total price of the subscription multiplied by the number of days elapsed and divided by the total number of days of the period taken out. We refund the balance to you without undue delay and no later than 14 days after receiving your request, using the payment method you used and at no cost to you.
If you took out your subscription through the App Store or Google Play, payment is collected by Apple or Google, which make the refund under their own procedures: withdrawal is requested from them (for Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google, in Google Play, under “Payments & subscriptions”).
10. Cancellation and read-only access
- You can cancel at any time: on the web, from Subscription, then Manage my subscription; for a subscription taken out in an app, in your Apple Account settings or in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, which has already been paid for: that period is not refunded, except in the case set out in section 9.
- When the subscription or the trial ends, the account becomes read-only: your projects can still be viewed and exported, but can no longer be changed. You can subscribe again at any time to be able to edit them again, exactly as they were.
- An account with no subscription and no sign-in for 24 months may be deleted. We tell you by email at least 30 days beforehand.
- We may suspend or close an account in the event of a serious breach of these terms (unlawful content, attempted intrusion, payment fraud), after informing you, except in an emergency.
11. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from My profile, and a single project from its Edit page. Deletion is permanent: your projects and their content are erased, the people invited to your projects lose their access, and your subscription is cancelled immediately, with no refund for the current period (except in the case set out in section 9). A subscription taken out in the App Store or Google Play is not cancelled by deleting your account: you must cancel it yourself in your Apple Account settings or in Google Play, or it will keep being charged. Remember to export your projects first. The details are on the Delete your account page.
12. Availability and backups
We do our best to keep the service available and secure, without being able to guarantee uninterrupted availability: maintenance, updates or incidents at our providers may interrupt it. The database is backed up every day. We nevertheless recommend that you export your projects regularly, in particular important documents.
13. Liability
We are bound by a best-efforts obligation. We are not liable for decisions made on the basis of the amounts or information you entered, for errors in an automatic reading you did not check, or for indirect damage. Except in the case of gross negligence or wilful misconduct on our part, our liability is limited to the sums you have paid us over the last 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
14. Intellectual property
This application and its texts, drawings, photos, illustrations, any videos, data, databases, software, domain names, logos, computer code and any other element appearing in it are protected by intellectual property rights, except for the content you add to it, which remains yours (article 4). Any copying, adaptation, translation, arrangement or modification, in whole or in part, in any form and by any means (electronic, mechanical or other), is strictly prohibited without the prior written consent of NOVE SRL. The name “novE” and its logo belong to NOVE SRL.
The subscription gives you a non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the application, for as long as your account exists and to follow your own projects, for private as well as professional purposes. Any breach of this article may lead to civil, commercial or criminal proceedings.
15. Personal data
We process your data as explained in our privacy policy, which also describes your rights and how to exercise them.
16. Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms. You are notified of a significant change by email or in the application at least 30 days before it applies, and the application asks you to accept it. If you refuse it, you can no longer use the application, but you can delete your account from My profile, and on request at info@app-nove.com we send you a copy of your projects. Any period already paid and not used is then refunded pro rata.
17. Applicable law and disputes
These terms are governed by Belgian law. If you are a consumer living in another country of the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country.
If you disagree with us, write to us first at info@app-nove.com: most questions are settled that way. If no agreement is reached, a consumer may contact the Consumer Mediation Service free of charge, North Gate II, Boulevard du Roi Albert II 8 box 1, 1000 Brussels (mediationconsommateur.be), or, if they live in another country of the Union, the European Consumer Centre of their country. The courts of the judicial district of Hainaut, Charleroi division, have jurisdiction, without prejudice to a consumer’s right to bring proceedings before the court of their own domicile.
